What is CNC machining?

CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining is a subtractive manufacturing technique designed to create the desired part by removing material from a solid block (called a blank or workpiece) using a variety of cutting tools.

CNC machining is a digital manufacturing technology that produces high-precision parts with excellent physical properties directly from CAD files. Due to its high level of automation, CNC machining is price competitive for both one-off custom parts and medium-volume production.

Almost all materials can be CNC machined. The most common materials include metals (such as aluminum, steel alloys, brass, etc.) and plastics (such as ABS, drelin, nylon, etc.). In addition, foams, composites, and wood can also be machined.

The basic CNC machining process can be broken down into three main steps:

Design phase: Engineers first create a CAD model of the part.
Program conversion and machine setup: Machinists convert the CAD file into a CNC program (G-code) and set up the machine.
Machining execution: The CNC system automatically performs all machining operations, removing material and forming the final part with little to no human supervision.

A brief history of CNC machining

The earliest mechanical product discovered so far is a bowl made on a lathe found in Italy in 700 BC.

Attempts at automated machining began in the 18th century, when these machines were purely mechanical and powered by steam.

The first programmable machines were developed at MIT in the late 1940s, using punch cards to encode each movement.

The spread of computers in the 1950s and 1960s strengthened the "C" in CNC, fundamentally changing the manufacturing industry.

Today, CNC machines are advanced robotic systems with multi-axis and multi-tool capabilities.

A: For small quantity orders, we have partnerships with courier services like TNT, FEDEX, UPS, etc. For larger quantities, air or sea shipment options are available. We have standard packing details, but if you have any specific requirements, we are willing to assist you.

Q: Do you provide samples? Is there an extra charge?
A: Yes, we can provide samples, but there may be an extra charge for them.

Q: What are your payment terms? How can I make the payment?
